Artwork Description:

Life cycles are dictated by the species of each living thing. If there is a belief in God, then there is knowledge of Eternal Life waiting for the faithful ones risen upon the return of Jesus.
The circles seen in the design represent Life Cycles. The points facing upward represent transcendence to Eternal Life of the faithful at Resurrection. There is life after this world for those who believe in Jesus.

Samsung is changing how we display art!

I came across an ad on Instagram yesterday just as I was thinking of ways to display all my artwork without taking up too much wall space. Not only was I pleasantly surprised but also totally freaked out that the internet can read my mind!!! Spooky!

I received a digital picture frame a few years ago as a gift. It was certainly an upgrade from having my photos displayed as a screensaver on a desktop computer. Remember those days? Yep! Think ten years ago! The picture frame did what I needed it to do and I was elated. It was an awesome gift! But it’s location was limited to being close to a power outlet to save on batteries, and quite frankly it was small — think the size of an 8 or 10 inch tablet. Seeing the pictures meant standing right next to it. Not a big deal but still not ideal. I wanted something bigger but prices at the time were exorbitant, at least for my budget! As a result I lost interest in upgrading and learned to be satisfied with what I had — my adorable gift.

Fast forward 8 years to 2019. Samsung has rekindled my desire for a larger digital frame and they’ve added a twist — their version is also a TV! W-h-a-a-a-a-t??? Perhaps I’m late to the game on this, but bear with me as it is news to me as of yesterday! It’s called The Frame.

In Art mode, it displays your curated art or pictures as a normal wall hanging. In TV mode, well, it’s an honest to goodness TV! The cool part is, it’s flat, so if someone were to enter your home or office and see it alongside your other artwork, it looks like just another piece of art on display. Then, with a click of the remote, it becomes a TV. Brilliant! Samsung rocks!

I’ve owned at least 10 Samsung devices which include smartphones, tablets and other gadgets. I’ve also had my eye on the 17 inch large screen tablet called the Samsung Galaxy View to enhance my movie-binge experience, but then forgot all about it along with the other products sitting in the save for later portion of my Amazon.com shopping cart. The Samsung Galaxy View has since been upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy View2 which sports a new design, but now I’m all gaga over The Frame! Mind you, I’m still heavily considering the Samsung Galaxy View or View2 since they offer portability which The Frame does not. So only time will tell which one I eventually get.

So, what do you think of the Samsung Frame? If you have one, has it empowered you to own more art without cluttering your wall space? Has it lived up to your expectations? Share your thoughts….

Disclaimer: I have not done any research to see if other companies have an equivalent to The Frame so feel free to Google to your heart’s content if the Samsung brand isn’t your cup of tea.

She traveled
a path of faith.
And though her steps
weren’t always perfect,
she pressed on,
for she was blessed!
She chose to see beauty.
She chose to be thankful.
She followed her destiny
to the place she called
‘Red Land’.

Having a bad day? Rachel Understands!

We’ve all had bad days! Right? We all have had mornings when we’re in a rush to get out the door and at least 10 things go wrong as if to sabotage the one day we planned to get to work early, as opposed to barely making it to the time clock before the 7 minute grace period expires!

Yep, I’ve been there! Just this past Sunday I planned on taking my daughter to the park super early to avoid the hot sun and the crowd. We love having the park all to ourselves which gives me a chance to be a big goofball as she challenges me to keep up with her: climbing, swinging, ziplining, and what ever else she dares me to do.

But on Sunday, just as we were getting dressed, doggy peed on her bed before we had a change to take her for a walk. This single event created an avalanche of work to do before we could even leave the house: replacing the dog bed linen, washing the dog, mopping the floor, scrubbing the tub and me taking a shower. Ugh!!! My daughter had a mini-meltdown and admittedly, so did I. Our plans were ruined! By the time we got to the park an hour later, it was hot and crowded so we didn’t stay that long. Bummer…

Later on that day, my munchkin and I watched funny cartoons, looked at cute dog videos on Instagram then went for a long walk together and of course, our doggy got to tag along. Despite the rough start to the day, we found a way to enjoy our time together and in the end that’s what really mattered.

Conclusion, in the midst of all the frustration, we can either have a meltdown or choose to go with the flow and rationalize that someone else out there in the universe is having a worse day than we are, making our situation that bad after all!

So, to help brighter your rough day, here’s a little pick-me-up to get you through this temporary rough spot. And just remember, Rachel Understands! Enjoy!

A Prime Vessel For Creativity!

Sleep — Click on image for details

How much sleep do you need to function at your best? Are you an early bird or a night owl like myself?

There are days when I sleep so long that upon rising I’m in a groggy stateseemingly incapable of much but ablutions, a bit of food intake and believe it or not more sleep! During this period I’m basically in recovery mode, usually from a stressful situation like an intense work schedule, emotional deflation or just in need of a mental/physical leave of absence.

Then there are the days when it’s like I’m on fire. My brain goes into overdrive, ideas flow freely and I can’t get them from my head to hard copy fast enough! During those bursts of creativity, I tend to sleep in 4-hour blocks. Call it power sleeping if you will, but it’s similar to the effects of a power nap where the body and brain rest just enough to propel one through the rest of the day!

I recently lost my younger brother, my only sibling, and spent roughly a month in recovery mode. Now I’m in power sleep mode, and after taking a year long break from writing as I worked on other projects the creative juices are flowing again. The dots are connecting, the fire is burning bright, and I’m happy to be back in the writing saddle! I’m loving this phase!

So, what phase are you in now? What makes you a prime vessel for creativity? Would love you hear from you!

The New Culture Of Pretense

Beauty Unfolds 11 – Click on image for details

Authenticity is so important to one’s well being, but seemingly it’s absent a majority of the time in this new culture of pretense.

Sadly, bait and switch has become the norm rather than the exception. It’s alarming that those who practice this behavior see no harm in deceiving others to fuel their own progress! Thankfully, in the end, there is such a thing called Karma. No bad deed goes unpunished and no good deed goes unrewarded!

Be your authentic self and let others love you for who you are — the real you! In similar fashion, practice acceptance of others. No two people were created the same. Through our differences do we learn to foster tolerance, growth and belief in powers greater than ourselves.

If a person’s actions conflict with their words, chances are authenticity has been compromised. Habits, good or bad, are hard to break! Conclusion, I’d bet my money on actions any day – – for they speak louder than words! Don’t be deceived by schmoozers. Let time reveal a person’s true identity.   Respect others as you too wish to be respected. Show appreciation often. Criticize constructively. Find joy in simple things. May peace and happiness be with you now and always as you journey towards being your authentic self!

Dating? 10 Red Flags He/She is not the one!

Angry Heart 45

Run for the hills if:

  1. They say, “I’m so proud of you!”, but never show interest in your endeavors.
  2. They always visit you at your place but have an elaborate reason why you can’t spend time at theirs.
  3. You feel the need to seek emotional support elsewhere because they’re frustratingly inept!
  4. They lovingly suggest you get rid of your pet or friends for your own good!
  5. They keep you a secret from their friends and family.
  6. They show no interest in meeting your kid(s) (from previous relationship).
  7. They think buying you gifts negates the need for quality time together.
  8. When out shopping, they rather spend your money and safeguard theirs.
  9. They insist they’re not ready for a serious relationship month after month after month!
  10. If after a year your relationship status still screams it’s complicated then it’s time to move on!
